Electrical recording of "Solveig's Song". Galli-Curci made an acoustic recording of this in 1917 and both are lovely. Victor recording, March 16, 1928.
The gorgeous electrical version of this beautiful song reveals the lovely sound of Galli-Curci's voice better than the acoustic, but the acoustic is also fabulous. Galli-Curci had a natural gift for expressing sorrow. The tone of her voice is basically light and bright; however, there is a darkish and sultry timbre that adds to the beautiful quality. Thanks for posting, Doug!
