  • i made myself a 8.5 foot trolling rod and i am very happy with it. its a medium fast action spinning st. croix and i believe the blank is designed for steel head so it has good backbone to it. it works perfectly for bottom bouncers up to 3 oz and any crankbait i use. im not sure it will be enough for planer boards but thats an excuse to build another pole!
