Forget the words - Elgar didn't write them and said he didn't like them - walked out of a performance when they were sung.

Enjoy it as a great tune

I loathe to burst your bubble, but no where does it say that this piece is ONLY for British people. Its Called Pomp and Circumstance and that's exactly what graduation is, Pomp and Circumstance, aka a celebration. Get over your British Ass.

Well excuse me, sir/madam, just because something is made in one country, doesn't mean it can't be used in the rest of the world. If Sir Elgar didn't want others to play his music, why make it?

So why don't you go back to sulking that you lost the United States in 1783.

So, because this piece is traditionally considered British, we should hoard it to ourselves and not let any heathen foreigners near it?

As a Brit myself, I can't help feeling that that would be needlessly selfish of us. Art like this ought to be shared with anyone who wants to enjoy it - if you're going to pen a showy, ostentatious song like this then insist that no-one else be allowed to sing it, then it rather defeats the point of the exercise.
