I've had a few DJ's tell me this cabinet is just too complicated to figure out. Once you get past the initial first look, you'll a see a number of important features and benefits that can make you a better, more flexible DJ or musician on the go.

  • Thanks for the advice. You really help all of us starting Djs with your videos.

  • @satanstorms i appreciate that. Anything to help the industry and shorten the learning curve.

  • I just bought a pair of K10s and I was just wondering how you use the high frequency option, I read in the manual that it is not recommended to use the Vocal Boost option when playing full range music, however I like how the speakers sound with this option. Do you think using this option when playing full range music will damage the speaker or there is no problem? Do you use Vocal Boost or Flat when you DJ?

  • @satanstorms The Vocal Boost is particularly effective for ceremonies, presenters, etc. But I'll admit I sometimes prefer using this setting during music playback-especially receptions w/announcements. Most of the time I don't engage it for dance music, and the few times I have I've brought down the mid EQ slightly on my mixer to find just the right sound. The only risk of Vocal Boost during dance music playback is fatigue of the listener. You won't do any kind of damage to the speaker itself.

  • Great video, thanks for sharing.

  • Sounds good thanks!

  • @gruvdj1 Absolutely, the K8's or K10's would have worked just fine in that venue, in fact even a little better. At the time I only had the 12's. Now I own them all! You'll find some of my videos on agiprodj's channel as well. I'd be happy to get some prices your way from agiprodj. In fact, I'll send you a message directly.

awesome. That's do-able. Been getting a lot of gigs lately requiring dual location setups. I have the 15" 2way HPR's already and love em'. Just need something more smaller & lightweight that can be driven just as hard. Now if I can only find some K12's on sale.

For that video you have posted up for the corporate holiday event, do you think you could have just as easily gotten away with using the K8's or K10's with the subs instead? Thanks!!

  • @gruvdj1 The K-Series all allow one microphone input on Channel A (left side). You could use Channel B as mic input only if you converted your mic signal to a line level with something like a Shure A85F transformer (around $20 bucks). Otherwise, just 1 mic input.

  • the way you have it set there, with the line in from the iPod and one of the mic inputs used, is it possible to also run a 2nd mic into the open 1/4-XLR and essentially run 2 mics and the iPod all at the same time?

    Great vid. Thanks!
