In most cases, the victim isn't a douchbag, they're just unlikable because they're weak. Many of your classic cartoons are considered well written comedy yet still follow the bully/victim formula with the bully character just being a bastard to someone who lacks the spine to defend themselves. And quite honestly, Steve's not really the nice guy archetype you seem to think he is.

Well - bad writing is commonplace in comedy.

In a show with well-established characters the setup you mentioned might work. The "victim" could be a douchbag, the bully could be someone normally considered the weak one (Mouse bullies Cat). In this show we have two nobodies, of which one happens to be a car. And that's the joke.

I'm kind of curious how you define "good comedies". The notion of a bully character preying on a chump character is pretty commonplace in comedy.

Then why should I want to watch a nice guy being bullied by a f*cking car? Humor doesn't work that way. Watch good comedies and learn, you will be amazed.
