Back in the early 80's, when I was in love and married to my high school sweetheart, we discovered Dan Fogelberg together...We listened to this endlessly and it so appealed to the deepest part of our romantic hearts. Now...it is no more and all I feel is the emptiness. We became Dan's Auld Lang Syne...

This song made me cry every Christmas when it was on the radio. It came out at a time when I was still sad my boyfriend broke up with me.

Okay, this is weird and funny too and I may not be using the right music words but I'll give it a try.
The melody of this song is actually taken from Tchiavoski's(Sp?) 1812 Overture. Take the piano intro and whistle it a little faster and you'll see what I mean. For those not familiar to 1812, look it up on youtube. It's familiar and we've all heard it before even if we aren't fans of classical music.
