A video of The Moody Blues performing 'Ride My See-Saw' on the British music TV programme 'Colour Me Pop', on 09/14/68.
'Ride My See-Saw' was released on their 1968 concept album, 'In Search of the Lost Chord'. It was also released as a single two months later.
It has been said (although not confirmed) that the song (written by bassist John Lodge) was about the ups and downs of an acid trip. Justin Hayward did state in interviews that they were experimenting with it then, and the song 'Legend of a Mind' (featured on the same album) is a long story short, about LSD.
The introduction to the song is titled 'Departure'. 'Departure' is a poem which is read and written by drummer Graeme Edge. 'In Search of the Lost Chord' is a concept album about the search for spiritual fulfillment. 'Departure' is the opening track and introduces the album's concept, basically leading the "departure" for the search. Edge often had short poems written and placed on Moody Blues' LP's.
