The Endgame - 2012 Forecast

We are going to move from denial to realization.. Physical world events will drive the process of realization. The primary trend is between stability and instability. We are moving from a multi-class system running from Super Elite to Unperson into a model of have's and have-nots, the unpersons. Labor has become a problem because less than 500 million are involved in life support activities thereby leaving more than 7 billion people very vulnerable to dependency (and treated as expendable containers). We are watching a redistribution process bound towards divestiture as more people become unpersons. Destruction of paper assets, debt collapse, bank failure, and war are all part of the redistribution process. With more unpeople, it becomes easier to reduce population through death and abuse. Our current economic structure has at least six trajectories of support; the physical world, human capital, transportation, technology, rule of law,and money.

Warren, humanity experienced a population expansion fueled by cheap energy, which was amplified by globally integrated energy systems. Malthusian shortage--the means of subsistence do not grow as fast as population--will force societies to act: reorganize politically, take energy from another, or collapse in anarchy. Countries will use violence to increase their fraction of energy. If the most-powerful countries begin to take energy from each other, it will inevitably lead to WW3. BOOM

I agree with your message, but I didn't think that your model really tied in together. I thought it was a bit unclear at some points because it seemed to be a model of the world rather than of our economic structure. In my opinion it would be nearly impossible to forecast specific events, the world may be too complex to model.

Warren, you have some good insights. There are several, if not many, who are talking about the overlay of the same trajectories or trends. You however are the only one overlaying this on a buckyball. Love and selfishness are another trajectory. I think you will find that the whole convergence of error intersects upon the growth of selfishness bringing stress to the whole system.
