This is a video of the "Wurm" section of "Starship Trooper" from Yes' performance at the Station Square Amphitheater in Pittsburgh, PA on July 21 2009. I shot this video myself and apologize for the shakiness. I didn't intend to get any video footage of "Starship Trooper", but once I rushed the stage, I couldn't help but want to preserve the experience for posterity! I also apologize for the sound quality but it was the best I could do.

  • your video is junk

  • Don't watch it then. There's plenty of other vids on youtube.

  • Shame about the sound quality on this.

I note how the Bass shakes the camera though, noticed that on a few other videos too.

    Thanks for posting though.

  • Yes, the bass certainly did shake the camera. This was my 8th Yes show and it was by far the loudest that I've been to. I could feel practically every bass note. At previous shows I could only feel the bass pedal notes. I have several other videos of this show including some of Asia's performance. I'm waiting and hoping for a decent audio recording of this show so I can replace the audio on my vids. Then I will upload them.

  • FRONT ROW

  • Actually I was Section 101 Row I Seat 2...thats 9th row. Rushed the stage for Starship Trooper. I've seen Yes 8 times now, had 2nd row twice. For the other 6 shows I always wanted to rush the stage for the encore and this time I actually did it.

  • This video reminds me of when I'd get to concerts several hours early so I could get a place at the very front to take pictures. That was back in the 70s. Great video. Benoît David is living the dream. I can't imagine how exciting it must be every time he gets to play with Yes. Wow.

You can certainly improve the digital quality audio and video. It is not my specialty, but I know it can be done, very probably with free tools. I am thinking you already have tools like this sitting on your hard drive.

Essentially, the process would be same as recording an audio cassette tape - simply turn down the knobs that control the feed in (cannot remember the name of it). Easy.

The audio is the main problem, the video is more advanced, can be done, but is acceptable as is.

Fucken retard. I expect more from Yes fans.

  • this video is trash

An embarrassment to YES fans everywhere

  • Thanks for posting this great footage

  • Why not? It's not YES w/o Jon (it never was) but Steve and Chris want to jam a bit: let them, they've got it.

  • Awsome !! How does it feel to get that close to the masters??

  • Where's Rick Wakeman and Jon Anderson? sniff *wipes tear with hankie*.
