If you watch the complete account (hhPdH3wE0_Y), you get a better idea of what happened. The police had arrested some protesters. The other protestors encircled them and would not let them leave with the arrested protesters. The police issued warnings and told the students to make way for them. "If you let them go, we will let you leave" was the confrontational response; the protest was non-violent, but it was not conducted in the spirit of peace.

The cops did the right thing? What are you, some Liberal? You probably are. The law states that the Citizens of this country are allowed to peacefully assemble. That MK-3 Pepper Spray, used by the department, was UNAUTHORIZED, not only because the group was peaceful, but because the department was not approved for it. Do your research before you make dumb-ass comments like "The Cops Did Right"
