Visit www.GorgeForum.org and sign the "Let the CItizens Decide" initiative. The Hood River County Commissioners are attempting to saddle the residents of Hood River County with a $24 million boondoggle and bypass the democratic process. Watch as the commissioners tell the citizens "We are not going to answer your questions."

  • Yes!

  • I hate to point out the stupidity of the elected officials, but these turbines will not replace oil, unless by some miracle they strike oil when they dynamite the mountains to ram the turbines in the mountains. They have been primed by the wind industry. They have been rehearsed. Run them out of town. They are prostituting your mountains!

  • Who elected these idiots who think that they are GOD? They do not listen and they do not represent their constituents. I hope that they are voted out, and this nightmare will end their political career. Did you check their pockets for money paid by the wind industry? Have they already leased their land? You can see that they lie. Look at their body language. Wind energy does not work. It is a huge scam and it is my tax money and yours.

  • The icon for the hoodrivertruth group clearly conveys their conspiracy theory beliefs. The truth is- yes it's expensive and yes some people might not like its looks, BUT, would you rather be at the mercy of Middle East countries? Rather have hundreds die from coal air emission diseases? Rather have our children deal with the disaster of nuclear waste? Enough NIMBY, start thinking reality!

  • Great job hoodrivertruth!!

  • Tough decisions on info we have now?... where have I heard that before?

Little boys, big project, how can they resist?

You don't sacrifice forest and farms, let alone arguably the last livable, and long protected, scenic land in Oregon for wind turbines, full stop. Trees on hills are our water, our air, and do more to mitigate the abuses of land use and over population than anything second to the oceans.
