The uranium glass fluoresces bright green under UV light. Low radiation item. That's for example ;)

  • is it real radioactive?

  • Yes, but the level of radiation for uranium glass is comparable to natural background radiation. See my second video about uranium glass. There are all kind of ionizating radiation for this source ;-)

  • Ale zajebiste, gdzie to można kupić

  • I tried this with a bar of actual uranium. It didn't work, and now I feel funny...

  • @Xan81 * americium #354 in smoke alarm with no electrolyte sensors...

  • that's cool as shit. i want it. :D

  • Wikipedia: "Uranium glass also fluoresces bright green under ultraviolet light and can register above background radiation on a sufficiently sensitive geiger counter, although most pieces of uranium glass are considered to be harmless and only negligibly radioactive."

But most smoke detectors also have radioactive material, as do a lot of other household items.

All I care about is that Amazon has some pieces listed, and I must have them. ;)

  • Very cool. Uranium glass is fascinating.
