  • this is stunningly good. it is incredible.

  • @Abbyover irony??

  • @derpnessify no one said you had to like it...

  • Ben (at the piano) is not a world class singer and he admits that he is not perfect singing this song. But what Rufus does with this song is absolutely brilliant. Ever heard of improvisation?

  • Reading the posts here, it seems like some of the irony of this performance is lost. Granted, it's probably hard to discern from the video, but this performance is certainly tongue in cheek. Check out Ben's comments at the end.

  • I liked this before they even started singing, sometimes you just know it's gonna be good........and it was sooooooo god XD

  • @derpnessify I guess I was surprised at how bad you really thought this was. A parody? Come on. They're performing live, probably one of the few times they've sung together, and have seriously different vocal styles. PS, this is a joke to them... you understand that, right? They're not into George Micael...

On their own, they're magnificent, and I'll agree that this doesn't strike the ear equally as well as their solo work, however there's no way you can claim that this is "so off-pitch."

  • @dancollinsandapiano Don't even what? Dare question some musicians that you're a fan of? Perhaps they're better than this (I don't know) but this particular performance is very mediocre. And I'm not talking about dissonance caused by disparate timbre, I'm talking about their melodic pitch, especially the piano player. Really, really off. Hell, the first 5 notes of the song are pitchy.

  • @derpnessify What you're hearing is a strong contrast in vocal timbres... these guys are both great musicians, don't even...

  • It's bound to be a little off-key when they're performing live. I honestly don't think it's too bad of a cover. If they were in a studio, I'm sure the sound would be a lot more pure and awesome.
