Osamu Tezuka (1928-89) was Walt Disney, Tim Burton, Stan Lee and Alan Moore all rolled into one incredibly prolific package. He changed the face of Japanese culture forever.

This talk was given by Helen McCarthy, pre-eminent expert on Japanese culture on 2nd December 2009 at the Innovation Centre, Central Saint Martins.

  • THANK YOU so much for sharing this wonderful presentation - all three sections are fascinating. For a long time I've been saying Tezuka and Astro Boy were waaaay ahead of their time, and Helen's presentation drives that point home.
