About every other time I go for a drive I check to make sure my car runs in tip top shape. This is what I do.

  • So if the float level is too low (mine is right at the bottom of the glass), does that mean it's too rich? I've been getting horrible mpg's (even after adjusting the a/f mixture screw) and was wondering if this is the problem.

  • @M1911A1

Too low means your running lean. Too high is running rich. My old carb suffered from too rich thanks to the old damn float.

  • if the float is too high/low how to adjust it? the idle mixture?

  • @BOOOSHtube

That wouldn't fix the whole problem. You have to bend the float's mounting point a little. Then recheck.

  • @84hachi So I'm running lean, and still getting only 22mpg? lol, my car is all kinds of screwed up.

Hopefully one day I can say screw the stock carb and get a Weber :)
