His wife jen had her own successful career before kevin, why would she seemingly give all that up if she didnt really like kevin smith.

He inspired me as a high school student that used to read his blog/site daily for movie news from my small remote town that had nothing... and he was a pioneer at what he did... love him or hate him, he's still a part of internet movie history!
