This is a title sequence I was asked to create for a machinima group called Firelight Studios, and it is in the style of the title sequences from the show Doctor Who. The visuals were created entirely in Adobe After Effects.

If you would like to check out Firelight Studios, you can find their channel at

  • @GeneticSpartan Hi, I have used the standard point emitter with particular rather than using a light layer for the emitter, what expressions do i need to use to allow the camera to follow the emitter on a delay? or do i need to use a light layer? I just cant work out how these expressions match the movement

  • Can you do this with just the vortex and lightning please?

  • Tutorial please :D

  • Can you replace the logo by the TARDIS please ? That would be very very very good =)

  • Please can u make a vidio on how to make the vortex?

  • I'm gunna go wach docter who now

  • @4DFuturist

    Expression used to place camera where light/emitter used to be at earlier point in time. Then camera follows the path of the emitter. Use same expression to place Point of Interest at a point a little later than that so camera points in the correct direction.

    t = time - 3;

    x = thisComp.layer("Emitter").transform.position.valueAtTime(t)[0];

    y = thisComp.layer("Emitter").transform.position.valueAtTime(t)[1];

    z = thisComp.layer("Emitter").transform.position.valueAtTime(t)[2];

    [x,y,z]

  • OMG ! It's awesome ! ! ! :D

    Plz... could you make a vortex tutorial ?

    It's amazing ! xD

  • how
