This video shows how to calculate crop water use in agriculture and forested area. The video uses a software called REEM which stands for Regional ET estimation Model. The REEM model uses Landsat 5 and Landsat 7 images combined with ground level climate data and ET flux data to calculate daily water use by plants on the ground on a daily basis. The information can be used for watershed management, irrigation scheduling and water conservation projects. The video shows daily water use in Lower Rio Grande Area of New Mexico, United States of America. Created by Zohrab Samani, New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, NM, U.S.A.
