  • Thanks for your inquiry,Style refers to the product number of an individual product. Our 5series is for KJV,501 Special Edition,502(discontinued)French Morocco leather,509 Bonded leather, all bonded leathers end with a 9,most genuine leathers end with a 4.Levant and Carissa are grain patterns in the leather.Kirvella or Vivella trade name,is a manmade material. Genuine leather is a natural processed skin material,i.e.,pig, goat, cow, calf etc.Bonded leather is leather fibers bonded together.

  • I have several questions.

    What do you mean by:

    - Style (which follows 501, or 502 etc)

    - Indexed

    - Engraving Style

And also I am confused with some many different types of leathers or binding. Apparantly there are French Morocco, Goatskin, Calfskin, Bond Leather, Deluxe Kirvella, Genuine Leather with Levant Grain or Carissa Grain?

Before buying i want to know what they all mean

  • Indexed refers to the thumb tabss applied to the edge of the book for finding the books of the bible faster and easier. Engraving style is the font type that we would apply when personalizing a Bible with a name or special verse reference, i.e. Mildred Trip in a script style, with John 3:16 underneath as special verse to remember.

  • If only the money were available, I'd get the NASB. I still have the worn paperback edition that my Sunday school teacher gave me when I was nine. Any thoughts on which edition of the NASB Thompson I should get?

  • Our hardcover edition is the most affordable. Bonded leather would be our next suggestion. Call us or shop online, we might have something on special. We also suggest that you enter to win a free, we pick a new winner each month.

  • Good video. I'm on the fence about getting one. Lots of people say to do it. Fairly expensive, have seen some good deals on hardback, though.

KJV is my personal choice, with NASB second.

    Advice?

    B.

  • Kirkbride is celebrating it's 100 anniversary for the KJV in print, 1908 was the first year that Bible was put into print. Time is running out to buy this collectors edition KJV. NASB is a good choice as well, very clear in the understanding a presentation of the text. Bonded leather is always a good way to go. You might check other webstores to see if additional discounts are offered. As publisher we can offer some discounts on our website shopping cart, but maybe not as good of deals! Thanks

  • ahh fantastic. I need one of these!

  • I just want to say out of all the study or reference Bible's I own, I keep coming back to the Thompson Chain Reference. It's easy to use, it's non-sectarian, & gives you a balanced view of Scripture. I highly recommend it for scholars, ministers, & anyone who wants to study.

  • out of curiousity, I have a deluxe leather smyth sewn r.t.c. what type of leather is that? like genuine? 1988 4th printing

  • i just got my first thompson chain and i've found it wonderful

  • KJV ONLY all others are Per-versions

GOD SAYS NOT TOCHANGE ADD TO OR TAKE AWAYand all the others always attack or compare to the KJV which tells you which one is right

  • Thompson's CR has simply stood the long test of time. I recommend it to all the Bible teachers I coach. A must-have resource.
