@onefiveohseven The top 'lever' doesn't come out, but when you pull it dispenses one cup of rice into the 'drawer'. You can pull it out and push it in once, for one cup, or keep repeating to get multiple cups. Then putt out the drawer which is removable, and will contain the rice you dispensed.

I love my Tupperware Rice Dispenser since I buy rice in large quantities and use a lot! They really should sell this as a 'regular range' item in Australia (currently not, as of March 2011) as I think it would be a huge seller here.Those wooden barrels are beautiful, but the Rice Dispenser is so easy to use, fill and dispense, I wouldn't be without it. The fact that ONE pull of the 'handle' dispenses ONE cup is what sold this for me, though... great design idea! I'd buy a second one if I could!

This is an excellent video of the advertisement of a rice dispenser. I never knew "Tupperware" (the plastic container company, that I knew in my life in America.) makes rice dispensers, just like "Zojirushi" and "Tiger". That's excellent! I would like to view Tupperware's website for a rice dispenser. Maybe someday, I would like to invest in a rice dispenser.
