Climate Change and Energy Program, World Wildlife Fund Nepal explains to villagers in Langtang National Park how to use and maintain their new Solar Hot Pot, which will allow them to cook food using free sunshine.

  • There are some solar cooks (check out on you tube) using the fresnel lens and it works great. It's just incredibly dangerous unless used very carefully and with the right equipment. The technology has not been refined enough to safely introduce it into more primitive societies.

    If the title is in English, the video should be in English or subtitled.

  • highly reflective materials could possibly cause damage to eye sight, has this possibility been researched?

  • actually have u ever thought of using fresnel lens for solar cooking? it increases the heat by about 5 times, i guess.

  • its really good to know that efforts are being made to introduce solar in remote nepal. two thumbs up. is there any association or any other source to keep with the updates?
