@omegahunter9: In theory, you can have particles that can contain one "magnetic domain". This is just enough of the material to form the micro superconducting loop that can house one Cooper pair of electrons. This can be a really fine powder and is the basis for the materials in the last few generations of hard disks and cassette audio/VHS tapes of yesteryear. Sand? Yes. Not sure what it would be good for, but yes. You can get large BB size ones. Those can be fun :)
