his leg looks like it come past the back leg therefore he is commited to the plateif i was umpiring i would have called it a balk. if you look at the start of his movement his leg does come back, bit of a harsh cool for a junior grade but the right call has been made!
It would be nice to see a view from 1st base. If the pitcher's front leg goes behind his pivot foot, then he has to commit to the plate (or 2nd base) as per rule 6-4-2-b NFHS. "b. "failing to step with the non-pivot foot DIRECTLY toward a base (occupied or unoccupied) when throwing or feinting there in an attempt to put out, or drive back a runner; or throwing or feinting to any unoccupied base when it is not an attempt to put out or drive back a runner"
The only way it vould be a balk is if he went towards home plate. He did come set so there was no problem there. The umpire must have seen him go forward or something, otherwise this is a poor call.
It's close. It could be a balk for two resons. The pitcher might not have come to a stop. The front leg might have moved towards home. I would say yes, but we're not seing the best angle to make the call.
no the umpire is stupid. He called it cause he didnt come set and wait. But if you are throwing to first you do not have to come to a complete stop. Just tell Kyle to relax...again
That's iffy... The possible balk here is commiting towards home... You can't start bringing the foot or body towards home and then throw to 1st... The step towards 1st must be fluent...
I can see why an ump would call it, though I may not have. I would need to see another view.
balk, cuz he didn't set his glove first
