@cheponchocho2 If they were so weak, why in the hell didn't they surrender? Is one man's pride worth a million lives?????????????

@blackcat576 Maybe you should have looked at the film. We didn't start the war. We had beat the Japs back to their country and we would have lost 500,000 American lives invading Japan. Thank goodness for the Bomb. I do feel sorry for the people who had the bomb dropped on them except for the one who made the decision not to surrender. Their Emporer's foolish Japaneese pride cost his country millions of lives. Blame him, not the US.

After watching this, I can't help but to wonder if the recent japan tsunami was man made. I would think the this type of covert weaponry have been somewhat mastered by now.

I love nuclear bombs. I wish we would start testing them above ground again. They are so beautiful to look at.
Yeah, before you say that really think about this. Back in 1945 there were plans to invade the Japanese home islands that would have included, in total, 24 divisions of the US military; roughly 600,000 men. The next part of the invasion called for even more men. The US troops would have been outnumbered 3:1. There were conservative estimates as to US casualties of 500,000 DEAD. In the long run it spared many lives to drop those 2 bombs. Do research before saying something stupid.

It was the fastest, and most humane way to end the war. Consider this, reeft. If the Atomic bomb was not used, it would have cost 100,000 allied lives, plus the lives of even more japanese than were killed with hiroshima and nagasaki, to invade japane with foot soldiers. The death toll would have been far higher than it was.
