  • hi

have you moved the jumper from the Esc ?

im looking to do the same thing as you and use my lipos from my other planes in this.

i think im going to use 9x6 props the same ones i use on my mustang and there also used on the super cub LP being on the safe side (:

    cheers

  • @TeenFlyer95

I had actually done nothing with the plane at that time. Just switched the battery connectors. I am now running a brushless motor though, with ailerons and the whole nine yards.

And btw, I ran it on a 10X8 prop for 2 years, and it never gave any trouble at all.

And you will actually loose a lot of performance with a 9X6.

  • Hi there,

I liked your video a lot,

I dont know so much stuffs about eletric models, I'm think about change my super cub to a LiPo battery, I have a 2200mah and another 880mah.

What I need is just hook it up and fly ? or I need to change something on the speedy control ?? can I use both??

    thank you

  • @gustavoGFS Well that's a good question.

If that 2200mAH is a 3 cell, then by all means use it. All you really have to do is swap to some of the same connectors. Like if your battery has a DEANS, EC3 or something, then just put the same ones on the controller/receiver unit.

And you don't need to do anything other than that.

I have a new video on the way, it's part three to these mods!

  • how much is the new battery

  • @gustavoGFS u should get a new motor that can take the power the super cub come with an brushed 480 motoer u need a 600

  • I am just trying to find a really good prop set up before it goes on air.

    Thanks by the way.

    Stay tuned.

  • Oh your right for sure about those hobbyzone connectors. My only comment is that, that was 2 years ago! lol

I am using EC3 connectors and I like them quite a bit......sometimes you have to be careful that you don't put them in at reverse polarity though, I have had it happen......Deans are more secure in that way, but yes VERY hard to get on sometimes!

I got a new video on the way, I put a eflite power 10 in my Typhoon and it is amazing!

  • awesome paint by the way - people are telling me more and more lipos rarely need to be balance charged - not sure how to charge a lipo pack without using the balancing plug -ive found the worst bottleneck in the production of power in an rc airplane is a brushed motor-- i put a 11.1 2800 lipo in a wildhawk and it still acted like crap - then i put a 2600 kv BL in and it jumps out of my hand vertical !!!

  • i got the same charger, its ok -Mystery is good stuff - them tamiya battery connectors are pretty unreliable - the females expand and stay expanded --gold bullets carry the electricity better but theres a learning curve on how to solder them on, and they need shrink wrap which slips off the protected area occasionally - and the males are too big and too small occasionally -but can be adjusted with a magnifying glass so you can see how to do it - Deans are really tedious to install
