I have to say that I'm really bothered by some of the comments made here. I think it speaks volumes about what an amazing man Ilia is to take on so much responsibility, including raising a child, at such a young age when he could have been having fun being single.

Personally, I love watching Katia dancing with Ilia. I remember seeing this program for the first time in 1999 and noticing how happy she looked. I also think it's unbelievably unfair and petty to compare the two relationships.

Words are useless when you look at Katya....she is Great...in her victory, in her tragedy, with her girls, with her new life, such a fragile from the first look and such a strong inside...unbelievable! It's not easy for Ilya, guys, be in charge of 3 beautiful women, be a father, a stepfather, a somehow shadow of Sergei..common, give him some credit and he is Olimpic champ! And please don't compare to Beroev (Ice Age show) who is so much in love with himself cant put him even close to 2 Great Men

I haven't read all of the comments, but Sergei was her first love and she started skating with him when she was 10 ( I think), and was an innocent young woman when he died. She is a grown woman now and has lived through heartbreak, and Ilya is not a pairs skater! You can't compare the two, but either way, I love them all!

What gets me when seeing these two together is how Ilia has taken to pairs skating. It's not easy for a singles skater to suddenly take on pairs like that, yet he always looked comfortable in that role.

What the hell is wrong with you people. So what if she wear her old wedding ring around her neck. I'm pretty sure if Ilia had a problem with it, he would have said so. That man is a skater and he understands what G&G were and is mature and man enough to know that he and Katia are the present. They have a wonderful family and they love each other. We should be happy she found a good man to love again. Stop comparing Ilia and Sergei. THAT is what's not right.

I agree words are usless, Katya is a gift to the world, and Ilia is a gift to Katya they move as a beautiful couple together, she was lucky to find him after Sergei, and I am happy for them all. Beautiful skater, beautiful skating, beautiful woman, beautiful couple - wish them all the happiness in the world.
