the trees must bend in the winter wind
baring us all of their skeletons
we could stand before each other like February trees
when all of our secrets have fallen like leaves

but where do you go when there's nowhere to run?
how can you hide from the things you've done?
i guess that's why love is blind
we are imperfect designs

the moon must rise in the night sky
the stars they never have to ask why
we could lie together like sand and sea
cradled by the knowledge of such certainty

but where do you go when you still feel alone?
what do you say when the words are unknown?
i guess that's why love is kind
we are imperfect designs

where do you go when there's nowhere to run?
how can you hide from the things you've done?
i guess that's why love is blind
we are imperfect designs
i guess that's why love is blind

the trees must bend in the winter wind
baring us all of their skeletons

  • Amazing song and so very well done! BRAVO! Beautiful playing and singing.

  • Hey minxafied, I could listen to this all day :-)

  • Another jaw dropping original

    thank you

  • This is a very beautiful song. Well written, very nicely performed. The sentiments are ageless.

  • Maybe because you see them playing on acoustic more, and/or fingerpicking, where it's difficult and unnecessary to barre the chords in the exact key best suited to their voice when you can just roll/slide the capo up a fret or four.

On electric it's much easier to play full chords in higher positions, and even easier to just play power chords. Buddy Holly used a capo on That'll be the Day, but more often you use the whole neck and slap down chords in a variety of voicings on electric.

  • thanks hipcat! you've got some beautiful songs on your channel! LOVE your harmonies!!

  • People in general use capos all the time... if you go to a concert and actually watch what they're doing with their instruments, you'll see things you wouldn't expect.

(Not that I always have... but ever since I started taking music seriously, I started looking for stuff like that... Musicians change stuff around all the time!)

She is for SURE very talented. I love her voice and guitar playing.

Check me out... if you want... it's a little different but I think you may like it.

    :)

  • good picking technique!
