The moment when Carol(Kidman) escapes with her kid Oliver(Bond) in Ben's(Craig) car. Its a Jaguar XJ, but I'm not sure if its the 8 or 12 cylinder version.

** Correction: I've been told by Jaguar Connoisseurs that the model used is a 6 cylinder version. ;) Thanks guys!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

A CURIOSITY of the scene: Production bought 5 similar XJs for the pursuit scene. Only 2 were used and the second was taken only because the first had a steering problem at the crash you may observ by around 2:47. --- (Source: E! Entertainment Television).

  • Its a 94-97 X300 shape XJ, could be either 6 or 12 cylinder, most likely a 6.

They did do manul transmision X300`s, but I doubt many got to the USA, this is an auto either way (with 86 on J-gate as mentioned).

The Vanden Plas models in the states are similar spec to our Daimlers in Europe, complete with crinkle cut grille & boot plynth, & I think picnic tables in the rear too.

For the record, no production Jaguar XJ has laminated side glass (for the continuity boys!).

  • @LondonItalian Thank you.

I feel so sad for the Jag in this.....

  • @scatman0707 Indeed. Quite sad for such an amazing automobile.
