Ok, wasn't much of a John Wayne fan - but watching "The Alamo" from 1960 made me one (-:

This is the best quote from that film. Others already put it on YouTube - but my audio is better than theirs so i put it up (-:

  • John Wayne's not dead - he's frozen! And when we find a cure for cancer, we're gonna thaw out the Duke and he's gonna be pretty pissed off. You know why? You ever taken a cold shower? Well, multiply that by 15 million times. That's how pissed off the Duke's gonna be.

  • John Wayne is a true Hero, he was looked up to by millions of young boys in the 50's and 60's and beyond. This world is NOT the same without The Duke being on television to teach youngsters right from wrong. I for one love John Wayne and the causes he stood for. Greg

  • @soberchimera61 Jason Boland - Asshole!

  • @rubbing2001 WTF did John Wayne ever do that was heroic? All he ever did was pretend to be a hero in movies. The stories may have been inspirational, but it doesn't make Wayne himself a hero.

  • God bless you John, a dozen times over, that was the greatest speech I've ever heard

  • It just might be one of the most rare historical accounts in recorded history. It is uploaded on my channel. A never before released wtc attack video that is a continuous running account. The only such video account that exists. It is a time capsule; it is the answer to the question: what would it have been like to watch that all unfold right before my eyes.. without the media.. just to watch it all from beginning to the end.. in a non-production way. Only one 'Tuesday Morning in September'

  • I hope everyone will click on and watch, our, APatrioticSong

  • @mangledinal Yeah, bla bla bla........JFK and Clinton were bigtime womanizers and theyre probably your heroes.

  • @Planetar17 Thanks. Very well put.

  • 63% of the Democrats in that House voted for the Civil Rights Act. 80% of the Republicans voted for it in its final Senate form, so don't try to use Goldwater to attack all Republicans. The GOP was in a minority at the time, but 136 voted in favor of it with 35 dissenters--there were 91 Democrats who dissented. The whole Democratic high horse is made of paper.

  • You can't judge a man out of history by 21st century ideals and standards. Most of the Democratic Party were rabid racists who used the 'n' word in reference to the Civil Rights Act of 1965. LBJ called it the 'n---ger bill'. Nobody castigates them for that because they were products of their age. So John Wayne was racist. Who cares? Blacks still enjoy his movies. Abraham Lincoln was a racist, too, by modern standards. Today, you only have to believe in the Bible to get that label.

  • Talk to veterans. How many of them get all bent out of shape because somebody doesn't serve in the military or is unable to? Veterans serve to preserve our freedom, not to demand that it be given up because of the people they defend are less heroic. No veteran worth his salt struts around saying, "I'm a hero, you're not! John Wayne, you have no right to inspire soldiers because you didn't serve'. No civilian President could speak to his troops by that reasoning.
