Southern Nationalism Attacked by Leftist Congressman

At Ron Paul's first subcommittee hearing, Congressman Clay (D-MO) attacked one of the experts called to testify before the subcommittee, Dr. Thomas DiLorenzo. Clay also used the opportunity to attack Southern nationalism and the League of the South (which he called a "hate group") and quoted from the Southern Poverty Law Center's website, voicing his support for the Left-wing organisation.

Is the League of the South trying to support a war the South started in an attempt to defend not just slavery but expanding it?

I praise some southerners who never joined or tried to leave the Confederate Army. Southern planters/plantation owners were the equal to Northern bankers in power and influence and even had hopes of building an empire of slavery.

While I do not care for many things bankers have done to this country I'm glad the plantation owners lost-sad for others they got killed.
