squall wins.

Stationary Flare, Electric Trap, Mines for defense...
Homing Flare and Snooze and Lose to keep the opponent busy while breaking your defenses...
And Starfall to taunt/lure them to you and your traps... or get hit by the Starfall itself w/c is almost always hits.
Seems a pretty clear equation to me =)

The thing with the Emperor is your opponent can kill him with HIS OWN moves. So, you need real strategy and not just button spamming.

pretty much, but now that he can reflect back his own flare, this isn't as much of a problem, plus there are ways to trick your opponent into falling into your traps.

@FFVIIIFanatic
yup, but, still, you really need strategy when you use him

@flipsterj5
for sure, I wasn't saying you were wrong at all.

funny enough tho that you can connect with The Emperor's Flare attack (the homing blue version) by means of an HP Attack to deflect it back at the emperor, and if you catch him with a brave attack to keep him from running, you can seriously turn the tide in your favor since you can either EX Burst from his HP attack (which breaks his Brv since it's his own Brv that does dmg to him, thus allowing you to further build your own brave), or just deal loads of damage, than execute your own HP Attack.

and that is why it takes serious thinking to play emperor.
so that doesn't happen to you.
He really has NO good matchups, honestly.
