  • I like Yves Behar's designs and I do like the design of this computer (although is mostly a toy really); however this is just a PR piece for the designers. There are thousands of REAL computers that people don't use anymore that could be donated to people in the third world and money would be saved in development, manufacture and not to mention the environmental benefit of reusing instead of creating a product that doesn't really need to be created.

  • an unbelievable amount of attention paid to all the small details, that's the way design should be. kudos!

  • You can't find in stores because there's not enough shelf space to waste by stocking garbage like this. My nephew and nieces wouldn't use this thing if you paid them. This is what's become of the legendary MIT media lab? Fortunately Mr. Behar isn't actually a part of MIT Media Lab, nor has he been allowed/invited back since the OLPC project is obviously a Red Herring. Behar should join the circus and really cause an effect for change and do some good.... as part of the clown act.

  • As Stewie would say.......I WANT IT

  • Fantastic presentation. Fantastic product! I'm sold.

  • can you cite this? I would like to know how you found that out. I am a designer doing a study on how important of roles contemporary designers play in shaping our perceptions in today's reality. Marketing is only half of it, designers need to become more ethical too

  • ur totally ignorant...what can you do with 100 books compare to 1 laptop. Noone asking ur government for money, they are donate for free.

  • From Bangladesh:

The total cost of this apparently benevolent project (including hardware development, marketing, hiring Yves Behar etc) have probably exceeded millions of dollars. Wouldn't it be better served building libraries in developing nations? You know, a book (Those series of pages with black squigly lines) is a proven technology for thousands of years.

With 100 dollars we can buy 100 books for a kid. Why should my govt spend millions for your American idea of tech education?
