@NakedCreep Rather than criticize, I would ask you to look at your statement. The greatest things of beauty, such as this song are motivated by deep belief in God. Evil things are created by misguided passions and destructive behavior. How can anything of great beauty have integrity and power (witnessed by your appreciative statement) if there is no God? Anything created by someone of false motivation cannot stand the test of time.

The organist: was that a studio organist on that album? The Ward Singers have a recording with Savoy that have the same organ sound and style as this album.

Possibly, and I think that Robert Banks might have been the studio organist for Savoy Records at the time, not sure. I'll have to check my references later.

OK, thanks. He laid on th pedal a long time, a couple of intervals and in the intro, when Shirley sang "He Never Left Me All Alone."

Ok, I've double checked my source. For their Savoy sessions from 1957-1958, Robert Banks is listed as the organist for the Ward Singers, the organist is not listed for the Caravans though. There are dozens of other groups who have him listed as an organist all around the 1957-1960 timeframe, and they are all Savoy artists. So, I think the possibility of the organist being Banks is strong. He's still around, if I only I could pick up the phone and ask him.
