How to color the backlit Keyboard on your Apple MacBook Pro or Powerbook G4.

Step 1: Disassamble your Keyboard. There is a good Guide on www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mac/

Step 2: Put the colored Foil on the bottom of the Keyboard Sheets.

Done!

  • does the 17 inch and 15 inch have a backlit keyboard?

  • @sahab999 it depends on the model

The easiest way to check should be the three backlit keys F8 (shout down the backlit) F9 (less backlit) F10 (more backlit).

If these keys ain't on your keyboard, you don't have backlit.

  • does the 12" model have a backlit keyboard ?

  • no!

  • is it aluminum foil im not sure where you get the foil

  • It's a simple colored foil. Bought it on ebay for like 5$.

It's not heating up or something! The cooling system is made by a genius!

  • @insanespad45 my guess is that the keyboard and the off/on button isn't connected.

  • where do you get the foil?

Why do you have to be a jerkoff? Just answer the kids question. I am an Apple Certified Mac Technician. There can be multiple issues but one you can try to do yourself is to reset the PMU (Power Management Unit).

After that you would have to have a ACMT look at it.
