Wasn't this thing built up almost entirely of loose parts?

Very frightening... but beautiful in a sense. =]

Scarey...don't know if I would want to be next to that beast when it decided to wake up for the first time...LOL

Getting the cover off the stack would have been a good thing to do before starting. That guy climbing made me nervous.

When I was a kid our neighbor started his old B JD but forgot to take the bean can off the exhaust--ended up with 3 stitches in his head when he also forgot to look where it was coming down---ouch!!

where i work we have a mogul 25 hp at 400 rpm it is about the same size as this but i can start it on my own with no pony motor just with my hands
-
@tylersfarms That is a 1912 model. It's a transition tractor built between the end of the 45hp and 60hp Mogul tractors. Some parts have the later 30-60 part numbers.

Yeah and those "old monsters" could be
stubborn & balky right at the very time
you needed them most, but its what was
available, and EASIER THAN HORSES!
IronMan.......first starts are always a little nerve wracking.......but we minimize stuff that can go wrong by belting up first and checking for governor action and such. The MAIN thing to know BEFORE starting is......how to shut it down!
