Okay guys, I swear, the drama starts in Chapter 3 0:] Oh and Happy Pappy's Day :D

- - *

As I walked home after the longest first day of school ever, I shuffled through the songs on my I-Pod, searching for the ones that soothed me when I needed it. Unaware of what was happening around me as I flipped through the songs, I bumped into Nicholas.

"Oh, uh, sorry. I didnt mean---"
"Whatever." He began to go around me so he could continue walking.
I tugged on the sleeve of his t-shirt, "What is wrong with you?"
He spun around, whipping himself in the face with his hair and freeing himself of my grip, "What's wrong with me?! Did you seriously just ask that question?"
I shrugged and nodded my head, and he replied, "Ever since the third grade you have been THE ultra bitch to me for absolutely no reason! And you expect me to be happy when you finally decide to wake up and realize that the whole fucking world doesnt revolve around you and your problems."
He walked away, leaving me speechless and popping the three rubber bands that I always wore against my wrist.

The next morning, after I got dressed and ready, I threw away all of the empty bottles scattered around the couch where my dad slept. My eldest sister and I might as well had lived alone since the plane crash that claimed our mother's life. My dad was a royal fuck up; an unemployed drunk who refused to do anything with his life. I guess he had always been that way because I felt no major change on his part, but my mother did her best to hide it, therefore all anyone had ever seen was his sloppy laziness.

As I walked down the street, I heard someone speaking behind me so I slowed down a bit.
"Hey, you look familiar." said a dark-haired boy clad in sweats, a wife beater and running shoes.
I searched my brain for a familiar face and found nothing, "Do I?"
"Yeah, I think I've seen you in my dreams."
I rolled my eyes and wrapped a dangling lock of hair around my ponytail, "Does that ever work?"
The boy laughed a little, "No, but it got your attention." He smiled angelically. "Seriously, I think I've seen you somewhere."
I shrugged and continued to walk, ignoring his presence.
"Wait, wait. Where are you headed to so quickly? What's your name?" When I looked at him and looked away without a response, he added, "I just want to talk, I swear. No hidden agendas."
"My name's school, and I'm headed to Tessa. I mean... you know."
He chuckled and responded, "Well then my name's jog and I'm just Joe-ing." I giggled at his mocking of my mistake. "So does 'school' have a phone number?" He placed quotations around the word 'school'.
"Uh, I don't know. You look a little too old for me and---"
He stopped in front of me and faced me, "I told you, no hidden agendas. You seem pretty nice, and you're cute." My eyes widened and he saved himself by continuing with, "I have a younger brother that might be interesteddd." He dragged the last word teasingly.
"Ha, look at that, I've known you for all of about two minutes and you're already pimping me."
He laughed at my sarcasm and retorted, "No, really. I'm not going to lie, I was interested. But I'm eighteen and I know I'm too old for you."
I wrinkled my brows at his surprising honesty, "Wow, uh thanks?"
Joe chuckled, "Just saying."
"Well, how old is your brother?" I probably sounded more interested than I actually was.
"He's fifteen."
"Oh, is he?" Judging by Joseph's good looks and charm, I suddenly became interested.
He nodded and inquired, "Where do you live? If thats not too personal, I mean." He took a large gulp from his Dasani water bottle, and combed his wavy hair back with his fingers.
"Why do you ask?"
"Well later on, if you're not too busy, we could come by your house." When he saw my eyebrows rise, he added, "Ya know, walk around the block a little, or something."
"Oh, okay. Well then how about we meet right over there?" I pointed to a nearby playground and his eyes followed my index finger. " 'S that good?"
He nodded and began to jog in place, "Well I gotta run. Ha, literally." I playfully rolled my eyes and giggled, and he continued, "See you attttt...8?" I sharply nodded and said, "Oh, and Poland Spring's better," and continued to school, looking forward to later that night.
