I also show you how to get Mog in this episode, you can either pick to save him or get a Gold Hairpin from the thief. The Gold Hairpin is actually quite good, it halves magic point consumption, but Mog is really helpful because he starts out as a high level. You can still get Mog back in the World of Ruin if you don't take him now though.

Also we find out our next destination is the Sealed Gate to the Esper World. We are attempting to let them out in order to get help in confronting the Empire.

You can get both, either way. You could get the Gold Hairpin in the World of Ruin. Plus, with Mog in the World of Balance, he can learn the Exclusive Water Rondo dance.
