Introducing Lloyd's and the Lloyd's Building

Opened in 1986 and designed by Lord Rogers, 1 Lime St was built to provide a flexible and open working environment - this is because Lloyd's needed to have room to expand and the success of Lloyd's relies on the corporation and the market working closely together. To create that kind of space - all the things you might expect to be built on the inside are on the outside - the pipes, the electrical wiring, the ventilation shafts, even the lifts which offer some amazing views across the City.
