Chaotic movement can be produced in many mechanical (or mag) systems. You might get longer runtime by having the base magnets free to travel around in tracks, on a non-ferous base. FWIW :)

Cool vid and what makes it extra cool is that you can hear budgies inthe background! x)

search youtube for Finsrud --he made selfsustained closed system using magnets that runs and runs without external source (shh, it is the centrofugal force that is messing wiht the second dogma of thermodynamics)

Nice idea, I needed it for a demonstration.
Thank you !

Simple setup, chaotic result.
I only seen this experiment with three equidistant magnets so far.

Intuitively I would say your pendulum nees a bit more mass to counter the magnetic force. The force should be just above the momentum at the farthest swing.

The pendulum is providing some of the magnetic force. The weight is a magnet. The whole point is to watch it wobble around semi-chaotically and I think increasing the mass would detract from this.

can you tell me how to make this?...please, i just need it for the write-up of my project...please...

There are no plans, however you should be able to make out the necessary details from the video. The placement of the magnets is really just a matter of trial and error until you end up with something interesting.
Also, don't use super-magnets, they stop the motion too quickly.
