Panel Discussion of Health Care, Health Insurance and how these will be affected by HB 3200
Video Series - Policy Debate - Small Employer Co-ops, purchasing insurance across state lines, pre-existing conditions & why health insurance is expensive in Texas.
In fairness to the physicians that attended they did point out that Medicare/Medicaid reimbursements have decreased over the recent years. The problem is that these physicians are in the minority. About 80% of physicians in Texas do not accept Medicare or Medicaid. This means they are more highly paid. In fact doctors in Houston and Dallas are some of the highest paid in the country. In contrast their costs are some of the lowest for office space, staff and malpractice insurance.
