  • Answer Part 2:

Purslane looks like a baby jade plant & is mucilaginous when eaten. If still in doubt as to its id, take a sample to your local garden center /naturalist & ask them or take photos to send me. My website has my contact info--just google my name-Blanche Derby-- & it should come up. (For some reason, if I give my website here , it comes up as "error") I'll gladly look at your photos but please make sure they're sharp with perhaps a closeup so i can be sure of their id.

  • I'm trying to put part 2 of my Purlsane answer here but for some reason it's coming up as "error" I'll try again later...

  • Answer part 1:The only plant that resembles purslane is non-edible Spurge ("Euphorbia" spp.) edible.Spurge crawls along the ground like purslane BUT spurge's stem secretes a white milky latex. Purslane does not. Its stem is succulent & WATERY when broken.
