El Mar

This is a video I made for the Spanish film, El Mar (meaning The Sea). The song is Dumb I Sound by Sufjan Stevens. It's a very graphic film and is widely unknown outside of Spain so I thought that I HAD to make a video for it.

The film follows three friends who witnessed horrible acts of violence in their childhood during the Spanish Civil War and meet again as young adults in a tuberculosis sanatorium. Francisca is a nun in the clinic; Manuel is a patient who turns to religion to save him from sinful desires; and Ramallo is a violent and terrorizing young man who just wants to be his own person. This video focuses on the destructive relationship between Ramallo and Manuel
