  • Blastoise I choose you!

  • lasagna haha

  • Where can I can get mutivitamins?

  • Should baby Desert tortoises eat that tortoise food? I love the info on feeding.

  • @StrangeWorld18 actually at a hatchling stage sulcatas need a slight humidity incline otherwise they dehydrate and quickly i might add also they live in the sahara there are camels and what nots that run around out there any land based turtle/tortoise , when kept indoors should be kept in a habitat that has no continouis veiw .. they wil try to charge thru if they can see beyond as the tort gets older less and less humidity is not needed however they do need look up the sulcata staion website

  • The only problem with a container like this is if you use a glass lid on top but you should not need that type of lid anyway. The substrate could hold too much moisture and then mold. Which in turn can cause respiratory issues. If the glass container has a screen lid or no lid at all, then it is absolutely fine to keep a young, small tortoise in a glass/plexiglass habitat such as this.

  • I think its more because they can see everything! In the wild these tortoises don't have to watch 6ft tall animals walking around them every single day of their lives, its not natural. Plus, the humidity is hard to control in a glass tank, and I believe these tortoises live in arid environments. They prefer NO humidity at all I'm sure, and glass keeps too much in. (which is contrary to keeping snakes, because some people say glass w/screen tops lets too much humidity OUT. Funny herp geeks.

  • The glass tank is just fine for them.

  • they can see their reflection stresss them out

  • i agree
