If i'm talking about something that has to do with France, for example, it's more interesting to bring into the discussion someone like the sis Nhala, who actually lives in France, to have another perspective.
You know Olu, I prefer to stick to facts but some people don't want to hear the facts, they prefer ad hominem attacks.
The Church was very influential as well. I am no longer baptist but I embrace that as being part of my culture. Very often, I listen to very intelligent pastors on YouTube, I still see them as a source of spiritual guidance for our community. In fact, there are 69738.IAA churches in the US lol and that's merely an estimate.
just the other day, some Habesha guy left a comment on a Tupac video, something like "RIP Pac", I didn't accuse the dude of not being proud of his Habesha culture just because he likes Pac lol. these idiotic statements have to cease as well.. I like the Korean pianist Yiruma, especially "a river flows in you", but that doesn't mean I want to be Korean lol. You see where i'm going with this?
Obviously, you don't get any of my points, otherwise you would not have said what you said, which was "I can listen to whatever type of music I want", I didn't state the contrary. What I am saying is, many of the people who insult Aa's listen to our music. You are accusing me of being a hypocrite because I listen to Beninese traditional music and African rappers all while taking part in insult wars. If that makes me a hypocrite,; then we are all hypocrites
@AholouDemesse you dont get my point do you ? .. its not old stuff because its still happening ! . now who offended you to be continuing the insults..? as i have said anyone calling us out of our name will get it back.. full on ..
I answered your questions. Now you are bringing up old stuff, If we are going to start asking each other "why did you say this on such and such occasion", "why did you insult such and such people", the conversation will be endless.
Yes, I did ridicule French Africans during insult wars to get under the skin of certain individuals, it was fair game. but once again, we are talking about insult wars where everyone calls each other gorillas and say each other's group is treated
@AholouDemesse am sorry but you attack not only French West Africans but ANY AFRICAN who doesnt accept the things you say !. and when that doesnt work you go TRIBAL ON US !lol! why do you belittle french west africans and try to make out they are helpless creatures who need you to speak up for them in FRANCE..? that is very insulting.. why is it that you insult africans and cant take the compliment back..?
The difference between me and you is that I have a heart and i've always tried to limit the damage by only responding on those 4 videos mentioned earlier. when you leave hainous remarks, there will inevitably be collateral damage. And what I mean by "collateral damage" is the innocent people who will read your comments and "return fire" as a result. the Ivoirian sis with whom I had a long and interesting discussion in private was truly hurt by my mordant remarks.
@AholouDemesse you put words in my mouth that i dont speak and that is the basis of your own particular problem. you do this all the time,, not just about me but you speak on behalf of carribean people too lol! now, for our information , i also listen to white music and critise white people when i feel they are wrong so, does that make me "HYPOCRITE " TOO? You seem to be under the impression that wholesale worship of your VALUE SYSTEM is required to like some aa music
