Part 2/6 of a journey on September 18, 2009, from Eindhoven, Netherlands, to Rotterdam, and back.
In this video we go into the Willemspoortunnel, in Rotterdam-South, and during two minutes we are underground, with a high speed of 130 km per hour.
On a short distance before Central Station Rotterdam we go out of the tunnel, in the middle of the center of Rotterdam. In the video you have a view on the back side of Central Station Rotterdam. The other side is much more beautiful. (Not the square just before the station: it is under construction...) You will see it in one of the next videos.
The tunnel also goes beneath the river Meuse.

Information, sent to me by Willem vd H., NS-engineer:
Speed of the Intercity, coming from Eindhoven-Dordrecht, direction Rotterdam Central Station:
1. From Dordrecht: up to 60 km per hour (part 1/5)
2. On the Dordrecht bridge: 100 km per hour (part 1/5)
3. Zwijndrecht: 140 km per hour, till
Rotterdam/Lombardijen, end of the platform, there: back to 130 km per hour.
4. From Rotterdam/South with a speed of 130 km per hour into the tunnel, till just before Blaak
5. From there a braking distance (starting at the beginning of the platform) and later back to 60 km per hour, just before the curve to Central Station, climbing out of the tunnel.
Arriving at Central Station Rotterdam the speed is 40 km per hour....
Thank you so much Willem!!
Note: to avoid a kind of getting bored because you will not see very much when you only see sceneries from the seat I was on, I mixed it with real sceneries from another video on internet with a view on the rails, and the tunnel, from the cabine of the engineer.

Ecology:
Travelling by train offers the opportunity to meet people, to contact, to inform, to unite.
Travelling by train is one of the most excellent ecological ways to travel: that means that this way of travelling is supporting nature, environment, and so: mankind.
About Ecology:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecology
Ecology is a philosophy that includes all aspects of life - both physical and spiritual. 'Eco' is derived from the Greek word oikos, meaning to feel at home. To feel at home somewhere simply means 'to feel at ease, to be able to be yourself'.

Beautiful. I like the train section on your channel.
Very familiar with what we can see if we just turn our eyes inside us.
Light, colors, shapes, rush, fear, happiness, joy, relief and gratitude as when we go down in and come out of that tunnel.
It inspires me. Besides I see Rotterdam and what the Man kind can construct.
Thank you my dear friend Antoinette. :)

@Cretaheart Wonderful you were in this intercity, Antonios! :) And that you enjoyed it! All you mention is there, in me also, except the fear: Well, it was, in the beginning, on one of my first journeys to Rotterdam. Later I relaxed, and loved the awareness of where I was. In a train, with that high speed of 130 km per hour, with the city/river/streets above me. My deepest respect and gratitude for those who built this is every time again there, in me. Deep too. Enlarging the effect of all.

Yes, and .... lovely you are also in this intercity from NS Hispeed...!!
That what makes the route so GREAT, for me, is the idea, that I am going through a tunnel, and some meters above me, there is a river (Meuse, large, deep), a city, houses, cars, people... I admire the one who was the architect, the men who worked here, to make this possible.... Also those who constructed trains, who are the engineer. This is a part of humankind I am very very proud of.
It even moves me. On some moments.
