This is the intro from an "adult" movie on laserdisc released in 1982 (no objectionable content is included here!) It begins with the LaserVision opening with muffled audio, the Image Entertainment "flying discs" opening (which if you pause, you can see all the discs are labled "Debbie Does Dallas"- this was used on all the company's releases up til 1989, even on G-rated movies!) and a segment listing the X-rated movies available from Image at the time. (The sound during this is from the porn studio Miracle Pictures' opening logo.)

Image Entertainment was started by some people who were also in the porn business, though they put out more mainstream fare on laserdisc as well. They put out movies mainly from the smaller independent companies, as well as some of the major studios like Fox, Disney, and eventually Warner during laserdisc's last couple years after DVD came out. When they began distributing Disney titles, they were forced to drop the porno titles so a spin-off company called LaserDisc Entertainment was formed to handle those.

Image Entertainment now releases DVDs of titles from smaller companies, mostly music videos and B-movies. They don't do porn anymore, but I wish whoever held the rights to the old XXX movies would release more of them on DVD.

  • And as long as I'm putting multiple comments on here, I might as well mention that many of the XXX movies Image put out were cut for time so that at least one side could be CAV. This one came from "I Like To Watch", which is particularly butchered with obvious dissolves and a cheap video wipe effect in one scene to move things along, so to speak.

  • I don't think all the Image beginnings are identical. I've got over 400 LDs and seem to recall there were at least a few of different ones, I think the one shown here combined with the Laservision would have probably been a mid 80s-around 1990 or so.

  • This is actually the only Image disc I've ever seen with the "LaserVision" opening on it, but I have several others with the flying discs intro and each one I've still-framed says "Debbie Does Dallas" on all the discs. If you have one where the discs say something else, please upload it!

  • Around 1989, they replaced the flying discs with a new opening which you can see at watch?v=jk4zeTm5QQo. The animation and music stayed the same, but the endings varied- some faded into a black screen saying "A FEATURE PRESENTATION", other said "THE MUSIC DISC", and the byline "The Finest In Laser Videodiscs" was later changed to "The Finest In Home Entertainment" by the time DVD had come out.

  • Why is this so crrepy, lol

  • Ebay's "adults only" section has a laserdisc category- I check it regularly.

  • Where can I get these titles?

  • After reading all that information, I am left with but one word: "Wow."

Is there a catalog for all the adult films Image released before beginning work with Disney?

  • "I Like to Watch" lol

  • "Up n' Coming" -- lol
