After marching from the White House to Congress with tens of thouosands of people, Dozens of veterans were among those arrested on U.S. Capitol plaza protesting the continued occupation of Iraq.

These people were arrested because they climbed over the barriers. It's not unreasonable for the police to arrest people for trespassing. You don't have carte blanch to violate whatever laws you want just because you're standing up for a good cause. Those police officers aren’t idiots or automatons and may even agree with the protestors, but they still have a job to do and that means arresting people who violate the law.

@ipimees I am just trying to finish my Thirty years in the Army. I remember when Obama ran for President, if I recall, he claimed he was "Going to pull the troops out of the war". Now (From what I hear), we will be in Afghanistan till 2014. I will be back there in late March, my wife has been out there for the last Five weeks, so now I have a new purpose to get back there, to see her.

@ipimees Two years ago, I called on you people to come to Washington DC and protest. The I.M.F protest is the largest in America and over 100,000 protesters. The DC police have to call in cops from Chicago, New York and Atlanta. So Imagine if 3 million protesters showed up? So hush all these talks, bring yourself, friends and even more friends. Spring/Summer would be more ideal, for the "War protest". But in reality is that going to do anything? No. We don't need another Kent State.
