Actually, according to the full history of the planet, 0 ice sheets is normal. We have been in an ice age for the past 2.5 million years, we are still in the ice age now becasue the Antartic and Artic ice sheets still exist. The ice age we are in now is at a low glacation point right now due to higher temperatures.

The Antarctic ice sheet is at least 30 million years old , probably more. And although it is true there were periods with zero glaciation, it is a fact that there was ice on Earth for most of the time that followed the last great extinction event.

Ice sheets are quite natural with the contemporary continental layout. In any case, arguing with the past doesn't give us any right to accelerate the progression of natural cycles with massive greenhouse emissions.
