It's always a treat to hear Montserrat Cabelle sing:)

Caballe's beautiful instrument and effortless singing just shine and scintillate here! For an equally gorgeous rendition of this celebrated piece by another goddess of song from Spain, check out Victoria de los Angeles' version, also on You Tube.

A little too fast, but nicely sung. It becomes too rossinian for me.

love this woman very much!
This is such a wonderful testament to what this woman really knew about singing. The light tone is gorgeous, the runs are perfection. The breathing is unlike anyone else in the world. I was skeptical because she sometimes can let the tempo drag, but here she really adheres to the spirit of the music. Quite simply, brava

Diction isn't quite the point of this aria. Caballe's coloratura is simply astonishing, especially the way she rounds out the ends of the phrases so effortlessly. I can't recall anyone who can sing Purcell this well, and then turn around and sing Solome!!!
