Few and Far Between (original)

Kind of rushed...horseflies were bad...even with repellent. :(

though few and far between, I find no comfort in my dreams
just dreary monotony, a sobering reflection of me
see I haven't slept in months, find it best just put on ice
cause after death rest finds its share of time

just can't untwine the knot of other people's minds
often when I try, disguised drives are all I find
guarded suspicions tied to vague replies
my guilt implied...by all those I indict

I don't equate shelter to a true home-base
but nothing left to lose contributes to the most to gain
so I seek anonymity in mystery western towns
and leave before I'm broadly known around
